todd markel, President
Todd began his insurance career after 11 years in the Intercollegiate Athletics profession from the University of Delaware, Florida State University, University of Tennessee and California State University systems. Todd entered the insurance industry in 1997. He worked with an MGA representing personal lines companies in Florida and Georgia. He spent 3 years as an award winning Property Wholesale Broker before forming Markel Premium Finance, Corp.
Todd earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware and a Master's degree from Florida State University. He has a current Surplus Lines 120 license, a Property & Casualty 220 license along with a Legal Expense license in Florida.
Todd's experience in working within personal lines, commercial lines, with an MGA and as a Wholesale Broker provides many attributes and relationships to assist his clients in placing risks with some of the best carriers in the insurance industry.
Todd is active in a number of professional organizations including the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA), the Latin American Association of Independent Agents (LAAIA), the Young Agents Council (YAC), The Miami Young Agents, along with many local association boards. He served on the Board of Directors of the Independent Insurance Agents of South Florida (IIASF), and is a member of the Florida Surplus Lines Association (FLSA). Todd treats every colleague and client with respect and integrity.
Todd enjoys coaching soccer, sailing and surfing in his spare time. He is married to Olena Markel and has 2 beautiful children.
